I love Vintage Articles..

Ok so many of you know I was born in 1971 so . With that being said I just love finding old road test articles. Especially when they are of my beloved 1972 Chevrolet Impala. I just like reading on just how the mind set was back then. Just like now actually with focus on fuel economy. Leg room and everything else. But with one huge difference they say 10 miles per gallon like its nothing. What is the standard now something like 23 or more ? . Hell my 2006 Expedition was between 10 and 13 miles per gallon. So the times are most definitely changed..

Hell just look at the sticker price for this thing at $4,800 bucks maybe a lil over 5 grand. For a band new car how many of you wish you can just pay that again. I bet many of us would just walk in and plop down cash and just be done with it. But sadly the times have really changed on that one. And 5 grand is just a down payment on a lease when you walk in the door.

They talk about ride and handling . Now I gotta admit I love the ride it’s just like floating on air. But the handling wellllll there just is no handling. Its pretty comical really over 20 miles and hour. You just feel like you are driving on big cloud literally. The Body roll is just insane I actually like it but no way. Would the American public go for it in a car of today. I mean even the smallest Mini Cooper handles wayyy better than these cars ever could. But if I wanted anything else I wouldn’t have bought my 1972 Chevrolet Impala. I am now looking for a 1971 Chevrolet Impala to give my car a sister.
