Bodywork is Done Impala Is Fixed !
Huge Dent On the Passenger Side !
About 4 months ago I forgot just how big and wide the 1972 Chevrolet Impala Custom Hardtop really is. Well it didn’t help that I was driving the Trans Am all week . And was very used to how small that car is. So while pulling out of the parking lot I tried to make a turn going down the parking garage ramp.
And that left turn I make was kind of well you know a lot tighter than is should have been and BOOM.. I nailed the part right after the Door and right before the wheel well.. And yes it was FUCKING LOUD !!.. And the huge 4 ft hard to find molding is just gone it was bent in four different places and very very hard to find another one.. I was more pissed at my stupidity but really heartbroken because I broke my most prized possession like a moron.. I was trying to be cool and I fucked it up..
Lesson one don’t try to be cool you will fuck shit up.. Lesson two PAY FUCKING ATTENTION !

Saved the day BIG TIME.. Not only did Matt do an awesome friggin job but he matched the paint almost perfectly. And with one of the hardest colors to ever match. Well he had one big challenge the car was painted once before. But not in the original Autumn Gold it was painted a lighter color gold so he had to mix and match in order to find the right shade of a very difficult color !
And like a champ he did it really came out wayyyy better than I could ever expect . I just could not believe my eyes I really did a job on fucking it up and he just came on in and fixed it like it never happened. But yea we just gotta find a molding for it and she will be perfect once again. The key word is find the molding it’s not gonna be easy but I love a good challenge !
Founder of the JRX Foundation and host of JRX Reviews. I grew up on big 70s cars my cousin more like an older brother to me had almost every Impala or Caprice from 1965 to 1989. Ever since I could remember getting Tony’s Hot Dogs on Park ave in Newark NJ in his 65 Impala SS. Now I have my big Impala to drive around in and I love every min of it.
